The relationship between hair dye and hair loss

Changing your hair colour is an exciting time for a new transformation, but many women and men are held back by the fear hair loss when considering a new hair colour. At professional salons, including Fringe Hair in Noosa, only high quality products and treatments are used in order to protect and nourish your hair. With experienced colourists and premium products on your side, you should never experience hair loss at a professional salon. VIsit your salon for specialised advice and high quality treatments.

Low quality dyes

Low quality hair dyes, including package dyes and supermarket treatments, can cause hair damage and hair loss for a variety of people. As everyone’s hair is different, each person experiences a different result. Hair dye shouldn’t cause hair loss, but low quality product manufacturers don’t always have your hair care at the top of their agenda. We always recommend visiting a salon and seeing a colourist who understands your hair, but if you choose to dye at home or with a low quality hair dye always do a patch test.

Our commitment

At Fringe Hair, we only use high quality hair dyes and colours to ensure the safest and most gentle experience for all types of hair. We thoroughly explain your specific hair colouring process to you during your consultation and encourage all questions related to hair dye, hair colours and hair care. By using only the best hair dyes and products, we protect your hair and provide it with nourishment and a new, vibrant colour.

Take the coloured hair plunge with your stylist

Ready to take on a new bold colour? Or maybe you just want a little vibrant refresh to enhance your existing look. Whatever your colour or style needs, our SEO LOCATION stylists are here to make it happen. Get the coloured hair you want and maintain it for as long as possible. Find out how you can get the most out of your colour consultation with your expert stylist.

Before

Keeping hair as natural as possible before your consultation will help your stylist in determining and mixing the right colours. Natural hair is easier to work with and definitely takes new colour better than dyed hair. But don’t worry if your hair is previously coloured - we’re the experts in that too! Keeping your hair soft, clean, healthy and natural is our top tip when coming in for a colour consultation.

After

After your colour consultation, your stylist will work with you to figure out the best hair care plan and treatments to maintain your new colour for as long as possible. Different colours have different care needs - new blondes tend to need a few more products and toners than brunettes do to keep their locks looking vibrant and fresh. Your stylist will guide you through all hair care and maintenance for your new style.

The experts in long hair care

Got sultry, long locks that are looking a little dull? No problems. We’re here to show you exactly how easy it is to look after your long hair. Our hairdressers specialise in providing advice for long hair care, ranging from gentle products and treatments to everyday habits that will drastically improve your hair. Discover the ease of looking after long, luscious hair. Don’t just get the chop because you think it’s simpler!

Our top tips

●Hydration: drinking enough water regularly is key to keeping your long locks hydrated and full. Dehydration can lead to dry hair that experiences more breakage and frizz

●Hairbrushes: make sure you’re using a hairbrush that doesn’t break your hair apart or cause more knots and matted locks than necessary. Your hairdresser will help you choose the perfect brush for your hair length and type

●Avoid heat: avoiding straighteners and curlers when possible gives your hair a chance to avoid potential damage. Explore heat-free styles and techniques for your hair with your hairdresser

●Don’t overwash it: over washing long hair can leave it looking dull and can be responsible for more breakage and hair loss than necessary. Finding the right shampoo and conditioner and washing sparingly is your best bet

●Masks and treatments: use high quality masks and treatments that don’t have any harsh ingredients. Proper masks and treatments will keep your hair protected and silky smooth. Ask your hairdresser about the right treatments for your hair type and hair concerns

Fringe Team

LEAH has been with Fringe for almost 10 years, starting as an apprentice and growing into one of the most talented hair artists. Leah is a very confident stylist with amazing styling ability. She also has an incredible ability in every aspect of hair, I personally admire her talents in colouring.

DINA joined our Fringe family 10 years ago bringing many years of hairdressing experience with her from the UK. Dina trained as a superior stylist in the UK and then had her own UK salon before moving to Australia. She has a natural talent with styling and colour, and one of her greatest assets is understanding and executing her client's needs.

Our latest team member LAUREN, is a keen, very polite, professional, young apprentice hairstylist who has chosen this great art to be her career. Lauren astounds me with her natural ability to learn and perform duties of a person well beyond her age. Leah, Dina and I enjoy working with Lauren and teaching her our fine art

We thank you for joining Fringe's VIP Membership, and our team we will continue to offer you the highest standards possible - we are experts in hair styling, colouring, and pampering!

Remember we keep all your colour details, hair products and general information recorded on our computer system so we can offer you the absolute best.

See you soon,

Fringe Journey

Fringe's journey started in business over 20 years ago with one salon in Quamby Place, soon growing to two with the Noosa Village salon, then three with our Noosa Civic salon, and now in our current location at Thomas Street.

While the challenge and excitement was fantastic having three fabulous businesses the key thing I was personally missing was being able to do what I love and that is hairdressing - so I made the choice to re-group into this smaller Thomas Street salon with my talented senior staff joining me.

I am very lucky my team is made up of wonderful, talented women who bring fantastic experience to the salon and I am really excited to announce that because of our new regrouping I can return to my passion - full-time hairdressing - and I look forward to being able to give you my personal attention.
